Description: Globally, alcohol consumption was responsible for approximately 2.6 million deaths in 2019, with 1.6 million attributed to non-communicable diseases (NCDs), as reported by the WHO. This webinar examined the impact of alcohol consumption and its intricate relationship with various diseases, including NCDs, highlighting the significance of early intervention, support, and effective management strategies.
Participants gained insights into the WHO SAFER initiative and explored how pharmacists played a pivotal role in prevention, support, and management efforts. The discussion emphasized the importance of collaboration with healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes and mitigate alcohol-related health risks.
