Attendance an online digital event on Nov. 20, 2024 entitled “Reframing the role and impact of pharmacy in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Care”. The event was offered by International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).
Description: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) was recognized as a prevalent chronic respiratory condition requiring comprehensive management. Community pharmacists and their teams were considered well-positioned to enhance COPD awareness, identify individuals at risk, and play a pivotal role in promoting early detection and referral to primary care partners for screening, diagnosis, and treatment.
During this event, the “COPD Pharmacy Toolkit,” designed to support pharmacists in delivering various COPD-related services, was introduced. Attendees also explored the newly released Speak Up for COPD Coalition publication, "The Global State of COPD: Driving Change to Tackle a Lung Health Crisis." The event was held in observance of World COPD Day.
